As a UniSQ student, you can access a range of free software to support your studies.
Download essential computer programs for free, like the Microsoft Office suite, using the information below.
You can download Office 365 Student Advantage for free while you are a currently enrolled UniSQ student. This includes:
- Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- OneNote
- Access
- Publisher (Windows only)
- OneDrive*.

* If OneDrive is disabled at any time (such as when you graduate), files may not be able to be retrieved by UniSQ. Please always save important files in multiple locations.
Zoom is UniSQ’s video conferencing tool. As a UniSQ student, you have a free UniSQ Zoom account. To find out more and access Zoom, watch our quick video or follow the steps in our Zoom FAQ.
You might use it to access online course content like lectures, tutorials, or seminars - your course StudyDesk will include a Zoom link or Meeting ID for any scheduled sessions. Just click the link, and the Zoom meeting will open in a new window.
EndNote is a great tool which helps you manage your references and citations in your university assessments.
As a UniSQ student, you can download EndNote onto your devices for free.

UniSQ students and staff can download Sophos Home for free on up to three personal devices.
Securing your devices is crucial to protecting yourself from viruses, malware and other malicious threats. Sophos is a leader in cyber security software, and downloading Sophos Home to your devices offers you the following protections:
- Real-time antivirus
- Advanced web protection
- AI threat detection
- Ransomware protection
- Banking protection
- Malware scan and clean
- Remote management
- Scheduled scans
- Automatic updates

Please note, while this software is offered for free to UniSQ students and staff, ICT Services do not provide support for this product.
As a UniSQ student, you can download MathType to your personal computer at no cost. By downloading the software, you agree to the licence conditions below.
Licence conditions
- You must be currently enrolled at UniSQ.
- Do not share the product key with anyone.
- Do not post the product key online or anywhere others can access it.
- You may only use MathType for non-commercial purposes, such as study, research, or personal projects.
- You may not use MathType for any for-profit software development.
- Once you're no longer enrolled at UniSQ, you must uninstall MathType from your personal computer.
If you breach the licence terms, ICT Services may request confirmation that the software has been removed from your device.
How to download and install
- Make sure you are logged into UConnect.
- Get the product key - you’ll need this to unlock the software.
- Download the MathType installer.
- Open MathType, go to the Help menu, select 'About MathType', then choose 'Unlock MathType' and enter your product key.
Please note: UniSQ does not provide ongoing support for this software after installation.
As a UniSQ student, you can download NVivo for free to support your research and study. By downloading the software, you agree to the licence conditions below.

Please note: UniSQ does not offer support for this software once installed. NVivo Windows 32bit is no longer available.
