Your digital setup and systems at UniSQ
To have a successful learning experience at UniSQ, you should have:
- access to a desktop computer or laptop
- internet connection
- the capability to use our online learning environments.
Check our computing requirements for more information on device and software requirements.
Don’t forget, there are computer labs on campus and study hubs located around Queensland – visit the Regional University Study Hubs (RUSH) or Suburban University Study Hub (SUSH) pages to find out more.
At UniSQ, we use Duo Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as an extra layer of protection for students and staff when using our systems.
MFA is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself online by using two separate pieces of information to identify yourself when you log in:
- Something you know – in this case, your UniSQ username (student number) and password.
- Something you have – a code or push notification sent to your mobile, push notification, hardware token etc.).
How do I access Duo Multi-Factor authentication?
You will receive an email from us when it is time to download the Duo app and next steps.
Duo requires access to a smart phone. If you do not have a compatible phone, please contact iconnect using the contact details at the bottom of this page.
Find out more about your privacy and Duo on the Duo Mobile Privacy Information page.
UConnect is your online student portal. You can find the UConnect button in the top right corner of the UniSQ website.
During your study, it’s where you can access:
- your student email and announcements
- StudyDesk to see your courses and learning materials
- your Student Centre to manage your enrolment, pay your fees, view your exam timetables.
Watch our quick UConnect video to explore some of the features.
As a UniSQ student, you have your own UniSQ email address. Your email address is your student number (for example, u123456) followed by @umail.unisq.edu.au. You can access your inbox through UConnect.
It’s important to check your student email weekly as all official correspondence from the University will be sent to your UMail, such as:
- important updates regarding the University
- enrolment information
- course and program information
- support information
- formal exam information
- graduation details.
You can choose to forward your emails from your UMail account to another email account and set your emails up on your phone or tablet.
StudyDesk is UniSQ’s learning management system and is where you will access your course materials and all things to do with your course content.
Generally, your course content will become available on StudyDesk the week of your study period's orientation.
Use StudyDesk to access:
- your course materials
- assessment information, including assignment submission
- study schedules
- message boards for communication and collaboration with your course staff and fellow students.
Watch our quick video on navigating StudyDesk.
Every UniSQ student gets a UDrive account after accepting their program offer. UDrive is your personal cloud storage space where you can keep all your files and access them anytime from your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
What is UDrive?
UDrive is powered by Google Drive and gives you 100GB of storage (including your UMail data). You can store all kinds of files including documents, presentations, photos, videos, and more.
Why use UDrive?
- Access your files anywhere, on any device
- Automatic syncing when you’re online
- Easy ways to view, search, and organise your files
- Secure and reliable with features like:
- Encrypted connections

Even if something happens to your device, your files are safe and available online (as long as they’ve synced).

What is Zoom?
Zoom is a video conferencing platform that lets you join or host meetings from any device (smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop) as long as you have internet access.
