Frequently asked questions

Undertaking an online uni course with UniSQ is an alternative to on-campus study that fits in with the demands of your life. When you have other commitments, travel demands, or even if you live in a regional area and would still like to complete your degree with UniSQ, our online university platform allows you to choose when, where and how you learn.

With UniSQ’s online degrees, you’ll study with both online and on-campus students, cover the same material, and graduate at the same time. The only difference is the flexibility that online offers – so you can balance work, family life and other commitments along with your study, and study in a way that best suits your life.

No! While there are opportunities for our online students to visit campus and study, learn and socialise at the University of Southern Queensland, there are no requirements for you to physically visit campus while you get your online degree.

Yes, online degrees are respected and recognised by employers in Australia. An online degree from a reputable education provider like UniSQ holds the same status as a degree completed on-campus. Employers focus on the qualification itself, the skills you bring and the reputation of the institution, not the study mode. If you are wondering whether an online degree is valid in Australia, the answer is yes as long as it is delivered by an accredited university.

Online learning has become a standard part of higher education, and many professionals now complete their qualifications entirely online while working or managing other commitments. Because of this, employers are very familiar with online study and often value the independence, discipline and time management skills it demonstrates.

You can also include online courses on your CV, especially if they are credited university subjects, professional development programs or industry recognised short courses. If you need help choosing an online degree or want to understand the study options available at UniSQ, get in touch and we can guide you through the choices that suit your goals.

There are a lot of important factors to consider when choosing what to study, such as your passions, strengths and where you want your degree to take you. We are here to help you choose! Get in touch and receive tailored support to help you choose the right degree for you.

Just like an on-campus student experience, online university degrees are recognised by the government as tertiary study, and you are therefore eligible to apply for and potentially receive assistance from Austudy or the Higher Education Loan Program. Further information on fees is available.
