Complaints and disclosures
UniSQ's Code of Conduct Policy sets expected standards of conduct and applies to all UniSQ employees, members of Council and university committees, contractors (including subcontractors), volunteers (including adjunct and honorary titleholders), and visiting academics (University Members).
If you have concerns about the conduct of a University Member, you can:
- make a disclosure if you want UniSQ to provide you with advice and/or support, including support to informally manage your concerns; or
- make a complaint if you want UniSQ to take formal action in response to your concerns, beyond providing you with advice and/or support.
You can make a disclosure to:
- the University Member’s Supervisor or Head of Organisational Unit, in person, by phone, or by email; or
- a member of the Human Resources Partnerships team, in person, by phone, or by email at PeoplePartnerships@unisq.edu.au; or
- UniSQ’s whistleblowing service, Your Call, by calling 1300 790 288 between 7:00 am and midnight (AEST), Monday to Friday (within Australia), or by submitting the online Your Call Report Form.
You can make a complaint through the University's Workplace Relations team or Your Call via any of the following pathways:
- In person: Meet with a member of the Workplace Relations team at any University campus between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm (AEST), Monday to Friday.
- Video call: Meet with a member of the Workplace Relations team, via Microsoft Teams or Zoom, between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm (AEST), Monday to Friday.
- Online form: Submit an online Employee Complaints and Disclosures Form.

UniSQ will undertake a preliminary assessment of your complaint or disclosure to determine whether:
- it is a public interest disclosure
- it gives rise to a reasonable suspicion of corrupt conduct
- it includes allegations of gender-based violence; and/or
- it poses a risk to the health and safety of University Members or students.
UniSQ may contact you for further information to inform its assessment of your complaint or disclosure and will provide you with updates as necessary and required in the circumstances.
UniSQ may manage complaints or disclosures about University Members in a number of ways, depending on the nature of the allegations and the outcome of the preliminary assessment.
Disclosures
In general, disclosures will be managed through the provision of advice and support and may include the implementation of control measures to eliminate or minimise, as far as reasonably practicable, risks to the health and safety of University Members and students.
UniSQ will provide you with an outcome to your disclosure. The detail of the outcome will depend on the circumstances.
Complaints
Complaints are managed in a variety of ways, including:
- a conduct management process, aimed at providing the University Member with the necessary support to improve their conduct
- a voluntary conflict resolution process (such as conciliation or mediation), aimed at repairing and/or maintaining professional relationships and guiding the parties to an agreed resolution of the issues in the complaint; and/or
- an investigation process, aimed at making findings of fact about the allegations in your complaint and, if substantiated and if warranted in the circumstances, to take disciplinary action against University Members.
In conjunction with these processes, UniSQ may provide advice and support, including the implementation of control measures to eliminate or minimise, as far as reasonably practicable, risks to the health and safety of University Members and students.
UniSQ will provide you with an outcome to your complaint. The detail of the outcome will depend on the circumstances.

The UniSQ Enterprise Agreement 2023 – 2026 will apply to investigations into allegations of misconduct / serious misconduct against employees.
