The Tempus Festival has two action packed programs of diverse work - directed, written, adapted and performed by our exceptionally talented graduates.

The University of Southern Queensland’s School of Creative Arts proudly presents the Tempus Festival 2025, showcasing outstanding original and adapted theatrical works by graduating students from the Bachelor of Theatre Program.

Running from 4 to 7 June at the UniSQ Concert Hall, the vibrant festival features two alternating programs of works written, directed and performed by the next generation of theatre-makers.

Festival Artistic Director and Executive Producer Dr David Fenton praised the students’ process and preparation.

“The students have created these theatre works under extreme pressure,” Dr Fenton said.

“It’s been a high-velocity rollercoaster of writing, adapting, directing, performing, marketing, designing, production management and intimacy coordination – compressed into as little as two months.

“The overwhelming enthusiasm and demand for the project led to the creation of two alternating programs, each offering a bold and eclectic mix of performances.

“From Shakespeare to edgy contemporary theatre, these works explore themes of trauma, friendship, abandonment, and forgiveness.”
