Hessen – Queensland Exchange Program


Location: Hessen, Germany.

Under the Hessen-Queensland Program, Queensland students are offered the opportunity to study at one of several universities in Hessen for one or two semesters. The students gain experience in studying and living in Germany and have the chance to give their studies a European dimension. The program does not cover travel, visa, medical and living expenses in Germany.

Undergraduate.

Law, Business Administration and Economics, Social Sciences and Cultural Studies, History and Cultural Studies, Language, Literature, Culture, Psychology and Sports Science, Mathematics and Computer Science, Physics, Geography, Biology and Chemistry, Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional Sciences and Environmental Management, Fashion & Design.

Program credit

Electives or courses approved by your School.

Courses offered in English can be found on the Hessen/Queensland website, as well as on each individual university website.

View the course catalogue on the Hessen website. Only a short description of each course is available. Detailed course outlines may be available on the individual university website. One UniSQ course would usually be equivalent to about six to eight ECTS, but this will be assessed by your UniSQ program coordinator.

Winter semester (WiSe)

October to February.

Summer semester (SoSe)

April to July.

Accommodation is available across most Hessen Universities as well as support in finding external housing.

Insurance

All students studying in Germany are required to present sufficient health insurance. Some German universities may require the mandatory purchase of a German statutory health insurance policy. This information will be provided by the host university at the time of admission. If any insurance policy can be used, students may qualify to be covered under the UniSQ insurance policy. Please check with the Mobility Team at the time of acceptance to the exchange program.
