Graduart

1 December 2026 - 15 January 2027

Curated by: Associate Professor Rhi Johnson and Brodie Taylor

The exhibition and its accompanying catalogue present the culmination of ideas, research, and creative works developed by the graduating cohort of 2026. Across undergraduate and postgraduate studies in studio practice, curation, and community wellbeing, each artist navigates a period of profound exploration, experimentation, and growth in a world defined by rapid change and ongoing transformation.

As visual artists, and as creative thinkers in the broadest sense, our graduates take on many roles: observers, innovators, storytellers, critics, advocates, catalysts, and questioners. Through the unique lens of visual language and artistic inquiry, they interrogate histories, challenge contemporary perspectives, and communicate in ways that transcend the limitations of the written or spoken word by inviting connection, reflection, and dialogue.

From the grounding of tradition to the possibilities of the experimental, their practices span Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Sculpture, Ceramics, and diverse mixed media. Within these modes, they have forged conversations around identity, culture, place, society, memory, and the shared human experience.

Together, the artists of this graduating year offer a portrait of what it means to create, and indeed to exist, in this moment. In doing so, they invite us to view the world anew, through the lenses they have shaped, honed, and made entirely their own.
