Overview

  • UniSQ's Master of Cyber Security (Technical) enables you to effectively locate and fix vulnerabilities, detect intrusion, and manage cyber risks.
  • Learn to critically examine, analyse and implement a range of innovative intelligent solutions to cyber security business scenarios.
  • You will explore cryptography within network security, big data management and analytics, and the best security practices relating to cloud-based business environments. 
  • Be introduced to ethical hacking, where you will analyse and address vulnerabilities in an organisational security systems which a hacker could potentially exploit.
  • The hands-on capstone research project gives you the opportunity to work with industry and apply theory to practice in a collaborative, laboratory environment at UniSQ or in your own workplace. 

Career outcomes

  • You will gain globally transferrable skills which you can apply to a range of contexts and scenarios in government, law enforcement and industry.
  • Implement your skills as a cyber security professional and begin your career as an ethical hacker, digital forensic analyst, security auditor, security software developer, cryptographer, cryptanalyst, security consultant or IT Manager.

Entry requirements

  • 3-year bachelor degree, or equivalent qualification, from a recognised university.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
