Within this specialisation you will gain a deeper understanding of the Australian and global markets, how companies create value for their shareholders, foreign exchange risk and corporate credit risk.
  • As consumers and businesses alike rely more heavily on FinTech (financial technology) to improve and automate traditional forms of finance, professionals skilled in these areas are in increasingly in demand. Explore and understand more about various forms of FinTech from artificial intelligence, digital currency robotics, blockchains and machine learning.
  • Learn more about the behaviour of investors within investor psychology and explore key principles of portfolio management and financial decisions making from investment strategies to on-going management of assets.
  • Graduate with a solid understanding of how to use the advancements of technology for improved delivery of financial products and services.

Career outcomes

  • Graduates of the Master of Business (Finance) are qualified for careers such as financial analyst or manager, corporate controller, advisory or consultant roles, banking professional, investment manager, stockbroker.

Entry requirements

  • Completion of an approved Bachelor degree in the area of business, or equivalent
    or
  • equivalent minimum of three years professional work experience (at Skill level 1 -3).

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Degree structure

To complete this degree students must complete 16 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.
