Light and Shade is the debut solo exhibition by contemporary Indigenous artist Melinda Luscombe, showcasing striking monochromatic works inspired by Australia’s native flora. Drawing on her Gomeroi heritage, Luscombe explores the deep cultural, medicinal and nutritional significance of plants, highlighting their enduring connection to Country, community and everyday life. Through bold black-and-white compositions rich in texture and symbolism, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on Indigenous knowledge and see familiar plant forms in a new, meaningful way.
