National NAIDOC Week is taking place from Sunday 5 July - Sunday 12 July, 2026. At UniSQ NAIDOC will be recognised and celebrated during the official week and extend to key events planned later in July and early August.

NAIDOC Week celebrates and recognises the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while promoting awareness and participation across Australia.

NAIDOC Week provides an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and to participate in celebrations of the oldest continuous living cultures on earth while honouring the resilience, talents and contributions of First Nations people.

This year's theme, '50 Years of Deadly', celebrates five decades of NAIDOC Week, highlighting the survival, resistance, and creativity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The theme honours Elders, leaders, artists, and activists who have carried NAIDOC forward, while also celebrating youth leadership and intergenerational knowledge sharing.

You can join us for:

  • NAIDOC and Student Expo in Toowoomba - 22 July
  • NAIDOC and Student Expo in Ipswich - 6 August.
