  • Examine applied geomechanics, material science, engineering design, geology, haulage and transportation, and explore surveying, ventilation, computer application and automation, mineral processing, and mine planning.

As a graduate, potential career paths include:

  • positions within Australia and overseas in areas such as drill and blast engineering, quarrying, or excavation engineering.
  • assisting with planning mining developments, designing pit and waste areas, scheduling mining excavation and haulage processes, instrumentation and geotechnical monitoring, controlling and monitoring mining operations, and production. 

Professional accreditation

When you graduate with your associate degree, you’ll be eligible to apply for provisional accreditation with Engineers Australia. Apply for membership after you graduate to become an Engineering Associate and with the experience you will gain from working in the field, you can apply for chartered status as an Engineering Associate.
