Guided by industry experts and experienced academics, you’ll gain hands-on experience through authentic engineering projects and real-world applications.
  • Explore biomechanics, materials and manufacturing, machine learning, wearable electronics, and emerging medical technologies. Learn image processing and medical device entrepreneurship to prepare for a rapidly evolving industry.
  • Gain the expertise to design cutting-edge devices, enhance diagnostic tools, and improve patient care — all while helping reduce healthcare costs.
  • Develop valuable capabilities in project planning, safety and risk management, teamwork, leadership, and communication, and apply your knowledge through 60 days of practical work placements and exciting research projects.
  • This degree builds a strong foundation for careers in medical technology and research, and can be used as a pathway to become a Doctor of Medicine. Graduates are eligible to apply for graduate membership with Engineers Australia (as a Professional Biomedical Engineer).

Professional accreditation

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) is provisionally accredited by Engineers Australia and graduates are eligible to apply for Graduate membership at the Professional Engineer level.
