In 2023, UniSQ will offer one Regional Leaders Scholarship to support a student commencing their studies in a bachelor’s degree program (including dual degree programs).
Supported by the annual returns of an endowment fund built up by donors to the University since the early 2000s, this special scholarship aims for the highest levels of support for promising regional leaders.Regional Leaders Scholarship
Applicants must:
- be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or permanent humanitarian visa holder
- be from a regional or remote area of Australia
- have completed Year 12 in 2021 or 2022
- be commencing their studies at UniSQ in a bachelor’s degree program (including dual degree programs) in Study Period 1 2023 (e.g. Semester 1 2023)
- be enrolled in a minimum of 6 study units across each academic year, for the duration of the scholarship as follows:
- minimum 3 study units in Study Period 1 (e.g. Semester 1); and
- minimum 3 study units across the remaining study periods (e.g. Semesters 2 and 3)
- be residing at one of the UniSQ Residential Colleges, Toowoomba campus
- be enrolled on-campus (unless the program/study units are not offered on-campus)
Applicants must:
- submit a personal statement (500 words maximum) outlining:
- what influenced and motivated you to choose your intended study program at UniSQ
- how you see yourself as a future professional within your field
- your prior leadership roles and how these experiences will provide future leadership potential.
- provide evidence to show you have a permanent address in or have relocated to study from a regional or remote area within Australia according to the Australian Statistical Geographic Standard Remoteness Areas 2016 Classification - refer Health Workforce Locator map.
- provide evidence to support claims made within your personal statement regarding your prior leadership roles within your school or local community.
- provide evidence of academic achievement as directed in the application process:
- high school report card or post-secondary academic history (transcript of results), e.g., school, TAFE etc.
Application must be made via the UniSQ Scholarships Online Application Management System.
