Maha Sinnathamby AM Scholarship

In 2027, UniSQ will offer one Maha Sinnathamby AM Scholarship to support a domestic student commencing their studies in a bachelor's degree program.

Established in 2022 through the founding gift from Mr Maha Sinnathamby AM, this endowed scholarship supports students who can demonstrate entrepreneurial capabilities.

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $8,000 to be paid over two years.

Applicants must:

  • address each personal statement question below (250 words maximum each question):
    • universities provide a pathway to transform passion into a meaningful career. What experiences, influences, or defining moments have shaped your passions, and how have they directed your choice of study and future aspirations?
    • modern careers create opportunities to make a lasting positive impact on communities and society. What are your long-term career goals within your chosen field, and how do you envision using your profession to contribute to meaningful societal change?
    • personal growth often comes through challenges, service to others, and opportunities to take initiative. Describe a situation in which you demonstrated resilience, leadership, integrity, or a willingness to contribute to others. What did you learn from the experience, and how has it shaped the person you are today?
    • entrepreneurship involves identifying opportunities, taking initiative, and creating value through innovation and enterprise. Describe how you have demonstrated, or plan to demonstrate, your entrepreneurial capability. If you have established a business, social enterprise, or other venture, outline your goals, the thought processes behind your decisions, and the actions you have taken to bring your ideas to life. Alternatively, if you aspire to become an entrepreneur in the future, describe how your chosen field of study will help you develop the knowledge and skills required to pursue business opportunities within your industry of interest.

Please note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
