Presented by Prof Charlotte Brownlowe & Ms Tina Crowe
From January 2025, all new PhD candidates at UniSQ will be required to complete an Oral Examination (Viva) as part of the thesis examination process. This online seminar, delivered by the Graduate Research School, will provide HDR students and supervisors with an overview of the Viva process, including the purpose of the examination, what to expect on the day, examination procedures, and strategies for effective preparation. The seminar will feature practical guidance from Graduate Research School staff, together with insights from candidates and academics who have experience with oral examinations. Participants will gain a clear understanding of expectations, common questions, and approaches for communicating research confidently to an examination panel. Whether you are at the beginning of your candidature or approaching submission, this session will help you prepare for this important milestone with confidence.
