Seminar Series 2026

An Integrated Framework for Renewable Energy Transition and Climate Resilience in Nepal

Please join our upcoming seminar, featuring Dr Utsav Bhattarai as our respected speaker.

This presentation briefly discusses the development of a comprehensive bottom-up renewable energy transition modelling framework as part of my PhD, taking Nepal as the study area. My research comprises several intertwined components, including extensive policy reviews, hydrological modelling, energy modelling, climate change assessments and the analysis of social perceptions applying bottom-up methods and machine learning, utilizing both primary and secondary data. The findings vary across the different aspects analysed, providing new and interesting insights. Eight first-authored papers were published in D1 and Q1 journals from this research, highlighting strategic pathways for energy security, climate resilience and alignment with UN SGDs 7, 11 and 13.
