Overview

  • With UniSQ’s Master of Project Management you will develop the skills and ability to become an evidence-based project management professional. The Master of Project Management is designed for those who want to build on their existing project management experience, lead emerging project managers or move into project management consulting.
  • Learn how to cultivate your ability to contextualise your project management knowledge, and develop your ability to draw on the latest evidence for solutions to difficult project management problems. 
  • You can study Project Management online, with the flexibility to attend interactive online workshops at UniSQ’s Springfield campus, where you will review study materials, examine case studies, enhance your study and research skills, and learn from leading industry practitioners.
  • The UniSQ Master of Project Management allows you to vary the number of courses you study each semester to accommodate work and home-life demands. Your course materials and assessments are made available from the start, giving you the independence to manage your time.
  • Your assessments are purely assignment-based and completed on an individual basis. By applying the curriculum to your own workplace experiences, you’ll create a competitive edge for yourself in the Project Management workplace.

UniSQ is registered with the Project Management Institute (PMI) ® as a Global Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.).

UniSQ’s Master of Project Management is endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).

If you have the following industry certification, you may be eligible to gain credit for one or two unspecified electives, thereby saving you almost $5000 in study costs and a semester of part-time study:

  • For AIPM Certified Practicing Portfolio Executive (CPPE), credit may be approved for two unspecified electives.
  • For PMI The Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification, credit may be approved for one unspecified elective.
  • For PRINCE2 Practitioner, credit may be approved for one unspecified elective.
  • Credit may also be approved for some previously completed equivalent postgraduate study.

Entry requirements 

  • Completed an AQF level 7 (or higher) qualification (commonly a recognised Australian bachelor degree).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ professional work experience in business.

To show evidence of your professional work experience, you will need to provide a resume or professional LinkedIn profile detailing the following:

  • Organisation name
  • Position title
  • Start and end dates of employment for each position
  • Type of employment (full-time, part-time or casual)
  • Key duties, responsibilities and achievements.
  • Names, position titles and contact details of referees (employers or supervisors) who will be able to verify the nature of your work for the period of 2 years. Referees may be contacted by UniSQ and should be able to provide details on responsibilities including but not limited to: managing people or client accounts, managerial responsibilities for any major projects and/or financial delegation accountabilities.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

To complete this degree students must complete 12 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.

  • Semester 1, 2023 - application closing date to be advised. Semester 1 commences in February, 2023.
