Are you an artist who wants to use your creative skills to improve community care or branch off into a leadership role? A Bachelor of Creative Industries (or equivalent) provides you with the opportunity to pursue your passions not only in creative industries but other sectors critical to the welfare and development of happy and productive communities.

When you study a Bachelor of Creative Arts and Community Wellbeing at UniSQ you will learn how your creative practice can engage positively with communities to build resilience, capacity and cohesion. This Visual and Performing Arts degree is underpinned by introductory Human Services courses to equip you with the necessary knowledge to make long lasting positive impacts to individuals and groups within your community. 

The entry requirements to study a Bachelor of Community Health (or equivalent) will vary depending on the education provider you choose.

To study a Bachelor of Creative Arts and Community Wellbeing at UniSQ you need to meet a minimum ATAR and assumed knowledge. ‘Assumed knowledge’ is the term we use to explain the minimum level of knowledge we presume you have in some subjects before you start your degree.

You will also be required to attend an audition/interview either on-campus or virtually and provide additional supporting information.

If you don’t have an ATAR you can still be accepted into the Bachelor of Creative Arts and Community Wellbeing by undertaking an audition/interview and supply a written statement.

At UniSQ You can choose from three specialisations.

Music - This major focuses on two modes of music practise including collaborative live performance and individual and collaborative music practice in digital spaces. Coursework in this major explores individual and collective music making, collaborative processes, live and digital performance, instrumental work, and songwriting, composition, and musical arrangement.

Theatre - Blend acting, dramaturgy, creative development, cultural responsibility, and theatre-in-community learning experiences to build on your existing knowledge and enhance your transferrable skills.

Visual Art - Gain studio-based knowledge, technical proficiency and the work ethic needed for visual arts practice as a skilled professional working with communities.

Continue to fine tune your skills and knowledge by using your Bachelor of Creative Arts and Community Wellbeing as a stepping-stone to further studies, such as our Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours). 

Tailor your degree to suit your career goals and expand your skillset.

• Introduce additional Human Services courses as your second major or minor. You can specialise in Child and Family Studies, Community Development and Indigenous Studies or Counselling.
• Branch out and explore another creative discipline such as Music, Visual Arts, Theatre, Film, Television and Radio or Design and Interactive Technologies.
• Practical experience to hone your craft - At UniSQ you’ll have opportunity to become involved in artist showcases and performances, to refine your skill and prepare yourself for a career in the arts.

Choosing an undergraduate degree at UniSQ means you can tailor your Bachelor of Creative Arts Community Wellbeing degree to suit your needs.
