Overview
- Do you want to want to blend your love of theatre with your drive to help people and make a difference? Shape your career with your creative talents to activate positive change and generate wellbeing in diverse communities.
- You will combine foundation studies in human services with courses in, for example, educational theatre, community theatre, and acting for the digital medium to expand your creativity, facilitation and leadership skills, and understanding of the needs of community care and development.
- Become industry-ready by undertaking a project placement in a community organisation during your final year of study.
- UniSQ welcomes applications in the form of an interview and audition for students without an ATAR.
Career outcomes
As a graduate with skills in theatre used to support community wellbeing, you can apply for jobs as a:
- drama therapist – using theatre techniques to support wellbeing
- community theatre facilitator – creating and directing performances that engage local community
- arts and culture coordinator - organising theatre-based events and workshops
- program activities officer - running drama initiatives in hospitals or correctional services.
