As a graduate with skills in music used to support community wellbeing, you can apply for jobs as a:

  • youth arts worker - using music to engage and support young people
  • creative lifestyle facilitator - designing music-based programs for aged care, disability services, or mental health support
  • community officer - organising music events and workshops for local communities
  • program activities officer - coordinating music-based initiatives in hospitals or correctional services.

The Music major focusses on two modes of contemporary music practice – collaborative live performance, and individual and collaborative music practice in digital spaces. Coursework in this major explores individual and collective music making, collaborative processes, live and digital performance, instrumental work, and songwriting, composition and musical arrangement. This major is underpinned by foundational Human Services courses to equip students with the necessary knowledge to apply their creative processes in/with/and for diverse communities to assist individuals and groups to build capacity and resilience.
