Monday

Setting us up for a gra(n)d ol’ week

• The Media and Communications office was on the front foot for Graduations season, sending out alerts and stories to local, state and national media to highlight the week.

UniSQ making its Ekka Debut

• Professor Karen Nelson could be heard across the ABC Brisbane airwaves and around the Ekka as the acting Vice-Chancellor promoted the Academic Excellence Scholarships.

Tuesday

And we’re (d)off!

Law graduates Anne and Errol were the first profile for our Graduations campaign; a beautiful story about giving back to the Ipswich community. Something tells us we haven’t seen the last of them… Read their story here.

Wednesday

Ctrl, alt, delete… she’s logged on to a new career.

• Almost three years after leaving her home in India for Australia, Megha Vaghela has become the first graduate of the University of Southern Queensland’s Master of Cyber Security. Read more about Megha’s story here.

Lots of space junk flyin’ round here.

• Professor David Buttsworth and Dr Fabian Zander were interviewed on 7News about the University’s research project looking at space junk re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.

Thursday

What a way to cap the graduation week off!

• A wrap up release was sent out to media to end the celebrations, featuring PhD graduate Anthony Young who flew in from Japan especially for the occasion.

Friday

Disco ain’t dead (after all).

• Dr David Burton wrote an article for The Conversation about how Beyoncé resurrected dance music and its queer history for Renaissance.

It’s a wonderful weekend for a Moon(dance).
