Graduart 2025

25 November 2025 - 16 January 2026

Curated by: Associate Professor Rhi Johnson and Brodie Taylor

Graduart 2025 presents a broad cross-section of the contemporary practices and creative ideas engaged by the graduating cohort this year. The artists and creative practitioners showcased in this exhibition and accompanying catalogue have completed arts-based doctoral research, honours study, or undergraduate study in either Visual Art or Creative Arts and Community Wellbeing. The diverse range of study areas undertaken reflect a varied and dynamic cohort, where each individual has conducted innovative experiments and produced artefacts reflecting the ideas generated through these.

The works showcased in Graduart 2025 reveal a range of traditional and contemporary techniques and approaches enacted across practices of Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography, Textiles, and mixed media. Throughout their studies, our graduating artists have developed a broad range of skills across these areas and adapted them to new contexts. Here, studio practices are leveraged as tools for communicating varied lived experiences, authentic to the artists themselves.

By deploying artworks as a mechanism for visual communication, the Graduart 2025 artists invite viewers to engage with a range of personal, collective, cultural, societal, environmental, and psychological narratives. In doing so, these artists support ongoing dialogue, provide alternative viewpoints, and contribute progressive arts legacies.
