Our inclusive education courses at UniSQ are designed to extend your specialist knowledge, experience and skills to facilitate the inclusion of all learners, particularly those with disabilities and additional learning needs. You will learn how to support general education teachers to develop personalised programs to give students with diverse learning needs the support they require to succeed in their studies.

A special education teacher courses cover various areas, including positive behaviour support, autism, differentiation, learning difficulties, well-being, trauma, and Work Integrated Learning (WIL).  

After graduating with a special education degree, you’ll be able to develop and implement support programs for students with diverse learning needs. Career outcomes include opportunities within special and inclusive education. You can also pursue careers within the disability sector, training sector, human services and community-based government organisations.

Graduating with a special needs education course at UniSQ will qualify you to develop and implement individualised plans for students with diverse learning needs, whether they require positive behaviour support, have a disability or other learning needs.

To qualify for a Graduate Certificate of Education Studies or a Graduate Diploma of Education, you must have completed an Australian bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an education-related discipline.  After completing either of theses degrees, you can apply for the Master of Education
