Hundreds of student athletes recently enjoyed the sights (caps and goggles) and sounds (splashes) of Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre at the 2025 Sydney Open and UniSport Nationals Swimming Championships from 16-18 May.

Competitors from across Australia got a taste of fame, sharing the pool with and swimming against current and former Olympians competing as part of the 2025 Sydney Open.

Two students represented the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), competing in all four strokes across three days.

Education student Sienna Deurloo had a meet to remember – coming away with two gold and two silver medals, and a huge personal best in her 400m Individual Medley.
