Life in a commercial cockpit is a long way from the small-town streets of Biloela in Central Queensland.
That’s where new University of Southern Queensland student Ryan Cullen has set course as he begins a Bachelor of Aviation.
The Biloela State High School graduate is one of University of Southern Queensland’s 2023 Chancellor’s Scholarship recipients.
The $29,000 scholarship is awarded to the most outstanding academic achievers who completed high school in 2022.
Ryan took the chance to join three of his four siblings to study in south-east Queensland.
He said the scholarship would make a huge difference to his first year in university.
“Moving from a rural town, it really helps with cost of living and moving,” he said.
The keen maths and science student said he was most looking forward to getting to know his fellow aviation students through the on-campus clubs and groups.
