  • UniSQ’s Graduate Certificate of Public Health offers case-based learning and an integrated approach to teaching five main public health disciplines: biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health, health policy and management, and social and behavioural science.
  • Delivered online, you can study while making an impact and applying specialised skills in your current role.

Further study

After successfully completing the Graduate Certificate of Public Health you can take the credit for your courses and go on to study the Graduate Diploma of Public Health or the Master of Public Health

Career outcomes

  • Public health practitioners collaborate with different healthcare teams to improve community health outcomes, and find work in organisations such as NGOs, clinics, community health centres, and local government. 

Entry requirements

  • Completed a 3-year or 4-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in the area of health with a 4.8 GPA or higher;
    or
  • completed a 3-year or 4-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a different discipline with a 4.8 GPA or higher, and completed 1 year of full-time work experience in a healthcare setting.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

To complete this degree students must complete 4 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per semester.

Residential schools

During the degree, you are required to attend a mandatory on-campus residential school course at UniSQ Ipswich and mandatory online workshops in one course.
