2025 marks a powerful milestone: 50 years of honouring and elevating Indigenous voices, culture and resilience as part of NAIDOC Week.

Here at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), we’re proud to stand with our First Nations communities to carry forward their legacy with pride and purpose.

We are continuing NAIDOC Week activities into August through a series of events that celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Join us for three vibrant days of cultural celebration, connection, and community across our campuses.

  • Toowoomba l August 14: 11am-1pm

We’re celebrating with powerful stories, vibrant performances, and hands-on cultural experiences, including:

  • Welcome to Country & Smoking Ceremony
  • Walk on Country
  • Panel discussion with inspiring First Nations voices
  • Traditional dancers bringing stories to life
  • Jewellery making
  • Yarning circles
  • Traditional food tastings

Whether you're looking to listen, learn, create or simply enjoy the atmosphere – there's something for everyone.

These events are a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate First Nations cultures, and reflect on the legacy we’re building for future generations.
