LET'S GET PHYSICAL (AGAIN!)

New trends have shown that our elderly population have decreased their physical activity during the pandemic, too scared to keep up their social and physical activities for fear of infection.

  • University of Southern Queensland Senior Lecturer in Public Health Dr Paul Gardiner says more age-friendly and inclusive policies are needed in order to protect the elderly so they can continue in their future of active aging. He says more needs to be done to make them feel comfortable - including access to new and useful technologies. Media contact: Nicholas Britnell 0477 007 443 and Sarah Green 0417 799 331

THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT

Queen Elizabeth ll has used the historic milestone of her Platinum Jubilee to redefine the future of the monarchy, paving the way for the Duchess of Cornwall to one day be called Queen when the Prince of Wales ascends to the throne.

  • University of Southern Queensland Senior Lecture in Humanities (and royal expert) Dr Jess Carniel is available to talk about the Queen’s move to future-proof an institution she’s served for 70 years and the worldwide reaction to the royal announcement.
