Join UniSQ’s Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Paul Mazerolle, to celebrate the launch of UniSQ’s new Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
You will learn how this exciting new UniSQ degree responds to the growing need for skilled graduates in the criminology and criminal justice sector. The degree is the first in Australia to feature a Corrections major, as well as a Criminology and Justice major. It will equip students to apply their knowledge to real-world crime and justice issues, while developing the skills to analyse complex changes and support evidence-based solutions.
A feature of the event will be the opportunity to hear from a panel of criminology experts, as they explore topical and emerging issues that are reshaping how we understand crime and justice.
The formal program will be followed by networking and refreshments, offering the opportunity to connect with industry experts, academics, UniSQ alumni, community partners and future colleagues.

Meet the panel and moderator
Ursula Roeder ACM is Deputy Commissioner, Community Corrections and Specialist Operations at Queensland Corrective Services, with more than 30 years’ experience across custodial and community corrections, strategic leadership and operational management. She has led significant reforms and projects, including the implementation of GPS monitoring for dangerous sexual offenders, and brings extensive expertise in offender management and community safety.
Professor Richard Wortley AM is Emeritus Professor of Security and Crime Science at University College London. His extensive research in criminology, security and crime prevention has contributed to understanding how environments and situational factors influence crime and how effective prevention strategies can improve safety and security.
Professor Paul Mazerolle is an internationally recognised criminologist with more than three decades of academic and executive leadership experience across Australia and Canada. His research focuses on violence prevention, life course criminology and justice reform, and he is the founding co-editor of the Journal of Developmental and Life Course Criminology.
