Responding to your offer and enrolling

Follow the steps below to get started with your UniSQ journey.

Congratulations! You’ve received your UniSQ offer – what happens now?

In most circumstances, when UniSQ makes you an offer, you can choose to accept, defer or decline. This is the same whether you've applied directly to UniSQ or via QTAC.

Accept your offer

You’re just a couple of clicks away from starting your UniSQ journey! Depending on how you applied will depend on how you accept your offer.

Defer

Sometimes things happen and now might not be the best time to start your studies. We’re here to support you and can put your place on hold for 12 months in most programs.

Find out more about deferring and if your program is eligible.

Decline

If you’re not quite sure about your choice, we’re here to answer any questions you may have. Our career advisers can help you find answers and an area you’re passionate about.

24 hours after you accept your offer, you will receive an email with your UniSQ student number and a link to set up your password. These will be your login details across our UniSQ systems.

Your UniSQ student number

Your student number is a letter followed by seven numbers, for example U1234567.

At times, you may be required to input your full student number which is represented by ten numbers. To find your full student number, replace the letter at the start of your student number with the correct option below.

If your student number starts with:

  • U, replace U with 006. For example, U1234567 becomes 0061234567.
  • X, replace X with 000. For example, X1234567 becomes 0001234567.
  • Q, replace Q with 001. For example, Q1234567 becomes 0011234567.
  • D, replace D with 003. For example, D1234567 becomes 0031234567.
  • W, replace W with 005. For example, W1234567 becomes 0051234567.
Your UniSQ password

It’s important that you set a strong UniSQ password to protect your UniSQ accounts and information. We recommend using a passphrase, a type of password that is easier for you to remember but harder for cyber criminals to crack.

Passphrases use real words, are very long and often contain numbers and symbols to add to the complexity. The best passphrases are those that use a random mix of words, e.g. PineapplePetaPoursPort3timesaday. Check out the information on the Australian Government’s Creating Strong Passphrases page.

To keep yourself and UniSQ safe, never use your UniSQ password on any other site, account, or app, and never share your password with anyone (we will never ask you to disclose your password).

If at any stage you forget your password, you can reset it by visiting the password reset page.

If you have work experience that is related to your degree or if you have previously completed study at university or TAFE, you may be eligible for credit towards your degree. It's important to apply as soon as possible before the study period starts so we have time to assess your application thoroughly.

The UniSQ Handbook is your go-to guide for understanding your study program. It helps you plan your enrolment and stay on track throughout your degree.

Inside the UniSQ Handbook, you will find:

  • details about your degree (program) and individual subjects (courses/units).
  • what you're expected to know and be able to do by the end of your degree (Program Learning Outcomes).
  • how your degree is structured - including core courses, majors, minors, and electives (Program Structure).
  • when you can start your program, e.g. Trimester 1, 2, or 3 (Intake Details).
  • the suggested order to take your courses to stay on track (your Recommended Enrolment Pattern).
  • how long your program takes, how many courses you need, where and how it's offered and which School your program is in.
