The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) continues to expand its suite of microcredential short courses, giving learners and professionals flexible, job-ready options to upskill, reskill or build expertise quickly.

Designed to respond to fast-changing workforce needs, UniSQ microcredentials are short, fully online courses that focus on targeted, practical skills aligned to industry demand.

Learners earn a digital credential on completion and can stack microcredentials toward credit in future UniSQ study.

Two new courses - Adaptive Educational Leadership and Science iSTEM - further strengthen UniSQ’s focus on education, innovation, and future capability.

Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students and Education) Professor Jo-Anne Ferreira said UniSQ’s microcredentials reflected the need for education to adapt quickly to demand.

“Microcredentials allow learners to build meaningful capability quickly, without stepping away from work or committing to long-term study,” Professor Ferreira said.

“They’re designed with flexibility in mind but underpinned by the same academic rigour and applied focus people expect from a university like UniSQ.”

The Adaptive Educational Leadership microcredential is designed for current and aspiring education leaders navigating increasingly complex environments. The course focuses on leading through change, building adaptive leadership capability, and making evidence-informed decisions in dynamic educational settings.

The Science iSTEM microcredential supports learners to integrate scientific thinking, STEM capability and innovation, helping translate theory into real-world problem-solving across education and industry contexts.

UniSQ microcredentials are delivered online and can typically be completed in weeks.
