A Message From our Vice-Chancellor

The Queen.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll visiting Toowoomba in 1954.

"This morning we woke to the sad news that the Queen has died. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was the only monarch most of us knew having come to the throne in 1952, and her passing is truly the end of an era, and will be a shock to many, given the stability she has brought for the past 70 years. As we reflect on her extraordinary contributions over such a long period, we are thankful for her life and service, and her strength, grace and dignity will continue to inspire us as we pay tribute to a remarkable life over the coming weeks. As a mark of respect and in accordance with the flag protocol, our flags will be flying at half-mast during the mourning period. I have signed the official Queensland condolence book on behalf of the University."
