Peer Learning Programs @ UniSQ
Whether you’re navigating your first year, adjusting to the academic environment, returning to study, looking for ways to study more efficiently, or wanting to develop your study self-confidence, UniSQ’s peer learning programs are here to help!
Our peer learning programs connect you with fellow students who are walking the study journey with you, and who are ready to offer study skills support.
Check out the peer learning programs on offer:
Peer Assisted Learning Sessions (PALS) are weekly, course-based, study sessions facilitated by a trained Peer Advisor who has previously successfully completed the course (or a similar course).
Peer Advisors create an informal, safe and welcoming space for students to connect over their studies.
PALS is a great way to gain valuable insights, effective study strategies, and learning techniques to assist you in studying smarter, not harder!
By joining a PALS community you will:
- meet other students in your study area
- have a space to discuss what you're learning
- be able to ask questions and gain insights from other students
- get tips and advice on how to study at uni.
See if PALS is on offer in your courses in Trimester 1, 2026:
- NSC1501 – Bioscience
- NSC2500 – Pharmacology and Pathophysiology in Health

Study with Me is a peer-led program where Peer Advisors lead and/or co-lead the creation of academic skills and study strategy resources, ranging from self-guided tools to peer-facilitated workshops.
Keep an eye out for the Study with Me Logo throughout the Trimester to get involved!
NeuroSpark is a weekly study skills session for neurodivergent students. It is a peer-led space, meaning your NeuroSpark Peer Advisors are fellow neurodivergent students.
NeuroSpark Peer Advisors strive to create a neuro-affirming space where students can connect and develop their study skills in a judgement-free space.
NeuroSpark is open to all neurodivergent UniSQ students, from pathways to PhD students – plus no formal diagnosis is required to attend.

This extracurricular program provides valuable experience in leadership and clinical supervision - key responsibilities of registered paramedics in Australia. Participating as a mentor or mentee enhances your professional readiness, supports confidence in clinical conversations, and builds skills that translate directly into workplace practice.
To support participants, the program also runs exclusive activities throughout the year, including clinical simulation events and symposiums. These activities offer additional hands‑on experience, opportunities to practice clinical decision‑making in a supported environment, and chances to connect with the broader paramedicine community.
Third‑year mentors receive training in essential mentoring skills, including effective feedback and case debriefing. Places across all year levels are limited and entry is by application.
To learn more or express your interest, please visit the Bachelor of Paramedicine Community page.
Please note that this program is not part of affiliated with the Peer Learning Programs supported by Support for Learning (i.e. PALS, Study with Me, and NeuroSpark) and is run directly by the Bachelor of Paramedicine.
