The UniSQ Graduate Excellence Award

The UniSQ Graduate Excellence Award is a program that recognises well-rounded, career-ready individuals who have gone above and beyond their academic studies to develop their graduate skills through sustained effort.

When undertaking the Award, you receive recognition for engaging in a diverse range of extra and co-curricular activities. These activities are assessed across three categories:

  • Professional Development
  • Extra-curricular Achievement
  • Contribution to the Community.

The Award also acknowledges the development of skills, attributes, and personal qualities necessary for effective university study, success in the workplace, and good citizenship. By actively participating in this program, you can build your personal skillsets, expand your knowledge and awareness of the world around you, meet new people, enhance your career outcomes, and engage with the full UniSQ experience.

The Award is open to all current UniSQ students, with no cost to join or complete the program - just your time, effort, and a commitment to developing yourself.

  1. Register to participate
Begin your journey by registering for the Graduate Excellence Award.
  2. Complete eligible activities
Engage in a range of approved activities throughout your studies at UniSQ.
  3. Verify your participation
Prepare and submit verification documents for each completed activity.
  4. Earn your points
Accumulate 1,000 activity points, including a minimum of 250 points in each of the three categories.
  5. Reflect on your experience
Submit a personal reflection outlining your development and achievements. This will be reviewed by a panel.

  7. Be recognised

There is no fixed deadline to complete the Graduate Excellence Award. Some students choose to complete it quickly, while others spread their activities across the duration of their program. You are encouraged to tailor your approach to suit your individual goals and study schedule.

For detailed information on eligible activities, categories, and verification requirements, please refer to the Graduate Excellence Award – Activity Handbook.

The Graduate Excellence Award will help you develop a wide range of skills to help you become a well-rounded graduate.

The UniSQ Graduate Attributes Policy informs the following Graduate Skills recognised and developed by the Award:

  • Discipline-specific expertise and industry knowledge

  • Digital literacy
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Teamwork and leadership
  • Cultural awareness and capability
