Facilities Management

Facilities Management plans, develops and manages the University's physical environment and specialist soft services across UniSQ's locations, in support of the University's mission and goals.

In alignment with its strategic objectives and best practice, the University of Southern Queensland has initiated a process of developing and implementing strategic asset management aligned with ISO 55000 and ISO 55001, which are the international standards for asset management. Strategic asset management is the holistic operation of an asset portfolio in support of organisational objectives, having regard to the needs and constraints of that organisation whilst acting as a strategic enabler.

Strategic asset management will enable the University of Southern Queensland to coordinate all activities associated with managing its assets to achieve specific asset management objectives to the benefit of the University. The Strategic Asset Management Plan guides the development of UniSQ’s asset management system and activities.

The University Master Plan 2022 has been developed to articulate the Estate planning and development activities that will enable the strategic activities of the University and position the campuses as engaging spaces that attract and encourage collaboration. The Plan focuses on the three main physical campuses, Toowoomba, Ipswich and Springfield, and outlines how each campus will develop its own narrative and sense of place. It is important the document is not considered prescriptive and that opportunities will emerge in line with the changing academic environment. As such priorities identified in the plan may not all be delivered.

The Master Plan was endorsed by University of Southern Queensland Council in early 2022. Further opportunities to engage with projects identified will be provided as plan delivery rolls out.
