A keen interest in research and a passion for engineering are what led Ezgi to undertake a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Civil Engineering.

“I wanted to push the envelope of my knowledge and influence the field professionally with a PhD.

“After investigating my options, I saw that the Centre for Future Materials at UniSQ is one of the world-leading research centres in engineered fibre composites.

“The advanced partnerships with industry and scholarship opportunities at UniSQ were also big selling points. I was awarded the Research Training Program scholarship and UniSQ International Fees Research scholarship to conduct my research, which was lifechanging,” said Ezgi.

The chance to attend conferences, workshops, and seminars where she could present her work was a highlight for Ezgi. Beyond the networking opportunities of her PhD, Ezgi found learning and having an impact to be the biggest benefits of her studies.

“The most rewarding aspect of my postgraduate study experience was the opportunity for deep intellectual exploration and the freedom to contribute original research to my field.”
