Agricultural research opportunities at UniSQ
Buddhika is standing in the Japanese Garden, UniSQ Toowoomba, smiling at the camera.

Buddhika arrived from Sri Lanka to build the next phase of her career as a plant pathogen science researcher. Having completed a Doctor of Philosophy with an agricultural research component, her experience at UniSQ Toowoomba has been incredibly positive.

'Australia offers wonderful exposure for international students wanting to pursue research, and UniSQ offers so much for students wishing to pursue research topics in agricultural fields.'

'I was offered a unique research opportunity, one that I am very satisfied with, and one that very few other developed country universities could ever offer me.'

Networking and industry sessions have assisted her research developments, resulting in positive connections that will shape and guide her future career.

Buddhika found the UniSQ website, online orientation and zoom sessions helpful to familiarise herself with the campus and Toowoomba’s relaxed lifestyle.

'I have had the full and unwavering support of my PhD supervisor and have found the people of Toowoomba to be happy and willing to help newcomers.'
