Anna

Anna built her knowledge, community and networks through study.

Anna loves the outdoors and is inquisitive about the world around her. After completing a Bachelor of Arts at UniSQ, she was drawn to studying anthropology as a postgraduate student.

“I was not disappointed, anthropology here at UniSQ is taught in a way that respects First Nations knowledges and encourages research with and for First Nations groups as collaborators, not subjects,” she said.

For Anna, studying is about building knowledge through community, connections, and strong networks.

“While completing my PhD, I have appreciated the many connections I’ve made with other first Nations people, they have enriched my experience here at UniSQ.

“It’s a supportive community, I have enjoyed getting to know other First Nations students and staff and being able to share experiences that are unique to us.

“Having the support of the UniSQ community has reduced my uncertainty and allowed me to fully focus on my PhD research.”
