HDR Scholarship: Development of a novel Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer rock bolt with an amended resin mixture using glass waste material
This project aims to develop novel glass fibre reinforced polymer rock bolts using glass waste materials in collaboration with leading industry partners. The project will be supervised by Prof Ali Mirzaghorbanali, Prof Xuesen Zeng, Prof Polly Burey, and Dr Hadi Nourizadeh.
To be eligible, applicants must:
• have completed an Honours degree with First Class or 2A Honours (or an equivalent qualification), or a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Rock Mechanics, or Mining Engineering;
• have applied to, or be currently enrolled at, UniSQ;
• not be receiving equivalent support providing a benefit greater than 75% of the student’s stipend rate;
• be eligible to commence or continue a PhD program in April 2026;
• attend an interview and be successfully selected as the top applicant.
