Durability of Fibre-Reinforced Polymer Composites: Understanding Degradation Mechanisms Under Environmental Exposure
Join us as Centre for Future Materials student Abdullah Iftikhar presents on his recently completed PhD research. Abdullah is currently a Research Fellow in Composites Durability specialising in the long-term performance of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites. His research focuses on understanding the degradation mechanisms of composite constituents under environmental exposure, and this presentation will discuss the degradation mechanisms of fibres, resin, and their interface after exposure to harsh environmental conditions.
The Institute for Space, Defence and Advanced Technologies (ISDAT) Research Seminar Series brings together researchers and students from the Centre for Future Materials, Centre for Astrophysics, and the Hypersonics and Rocketry Group to showcase the breadth of research across the Institute. Presentations include HDR candidates at various stages of candidature, academic and research staff sharing current research, and occasional masterclasses on specialist topics. The monthly seminar series provides an opportunity to learn about emerging research, foster new collaborations, and increase awareness of the diverse expertise within ISDAT. All UniSQ staff and students are welcome to attend.
