Effects of Roughness-Induced Interaction on a Fin in Hypersonic Conditions
Join us for a presentation by Juliana Silva de Morais, a PhD candidate in the Hypersonics and Rocketry Group. Juliana’s research focusses on understanding control surface performance through fundamental experiments performed in the UniSQ hypersonic wind tunnel, TUSQ. Her presentation shows how an isolated roughness pattern (ramp) can effectively promote turbulence in the flow and the main impacts on a downstream, non-actuated vertical fin.
The Institute for Space, Defence and Advanced Technologies (ISDAT) Research Seminar Series brings together researchers and students from the Centre for Future Materials, Centre for Astrophysics, and the Hypersonics and Rocketry Group to showcase the breadth of research across the Institute. Presentations include HDR candidates at various stages of candidature, academic and research staff sharing current research, and occasional masterclasses on specialist topics. The monthly seminar series provides an opportunity to learn about emerging research, foster new collaborations, and increase awareness of the diverse expertise within ISDAT. All UniSQ staff and students are welcome to attend.
