Challenges and Strategies for Continuous Reinforcement Integration in 3D Concrete Printing
Join us for a presentation by Dr Akilesh Ramesh, a research fellow in the Centre for Future Materials, who specialises in 3D concrete printing, sustainable construction materials, and digital construction for resilient infrastructure. His research focuses on advancing innovative reinforcement strategies and material technologies that enable the next generation of resilient, sustainable, and automated construction. This presentation explores the key challenges of integrating continuous reinforcement into 3D concrete printing and discusses emerging strategies, technologies, and design approaches that enable structurally robust, resilient, and scalable additive manufacturing in construction.
The Institute for Space, Defence and Advanced Technologies (ISDAT) Research Seminar Series brings together researchers and students from the Centre for Future Materials, Centre for Astrophysics, and the Hypersonics and Rocketry Group to showcase the breadth of research across the Institute. Presentations include HDR candidates at various stages of candidature, academic and research staff sharing current research, and occasional masterclasses on specialist topics. The monthly seminar series provides an opportunity to learn about emerging research, foster new collaborations, and increase awareness of the diverse expertise within ISDAT.
