Yozakura: Twilight lantern event

Celebrate our wonderful campus gardens for the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. As part of this year's displays, we invite you to experience the beauty of the Japanese Garden (Ju Raku En) at twilight during a special Twilight Lantern Event on Saturday 19 September from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

Named ‘Yozakura’, a Japanese phrase meaning cherry blossoms at night, this free community event will showcase over 400 illuminated lanterns that will transform the Japanese Garden into a captivating night-time destination.

Stroll through the grounds, admire an elegant bonsai display, and relax in seated picnic areas right under the cherry blossoms. The night will come alive with delicious options from local food trucks alongside a spectacular soundtrack, featuring energetic live Taiko drummer performances interspersed with the soft, soothing melodies of traditional Japanese instruments.
