If you are studying to be a teacher, attending a Teaching Careers Session will be vital! It doesn't matter whether you are about to graduate and looking to secure that job, completing your studies and interested in potential PTT positions or strategic placement sites, or starting in your program of study and thinking about where you might be interested in doing placements through your program - this will be relevant for you!
Attending a session will:
- connect you with key employers
- connect you with professional associations
- connect you with industry professionals
- support you in preservice teacher employability, career planning and goal setting
- connect you with other preservice teaching students
Each session will be formatted to give students, in small groups and as individuals, to meet with representatives from all three employing sectors - Department of Education, Independent schools Queensland and Catholic Education - and learn about what each sector is about, jobs are available and how to find them, how to apply, employment initiatives and incentives, potential PTT opportunities, build contacts and get personalised advice about teaching employment.
