When
08 OCT 2025
6.00 PM - 7.30 PM
Where
Online via Zoom

This webinar addresses the growing need for researchers to communicate their work effectively to both specialist and broader audiences. Designed as an interactive session, the workshop covers identifying target audiences, crafting compelling headlines, and tailoring content for different genres and outlets such as trade magazines, public platforms, or blogs.

Participants will be introduced to a ‘genre analysis tool’ to facilitate the understanding of diverse text types and improve the impact of their writing. Key learning outcomes include enhancing dissemination strategies, understanding rhetorical factors, and developing skills to engage and inform non-specialist audiences through impactful research communication. Dr Nadya Yakovchuk, Senior Fellow of Advance HE and academic lead at the University of Surrey’s Doctoral College, brings over two decades of expertise in writing development and academic skills. She has contributed extensively to international conferences and scholarly publications on writing pedagogy, student-staff partnerships, and the transfer of writing skills across contexts. Dr Yakovchuk’s research interests include genre-based writing instruction, authorial voice, and inclusive practices.
