Topic: Mapping Health Promoting Behaviours and Social Support Among Migrant Primigravida and Multigravida Women: A Mixed Method Approach During Pregnancy

Health-promoting behaviours during pregnancy are essential for enhancing maternal and fetal health outcomes. For migrant women, distinct challenges such as language barriers, cultural differences, and limited access to support services may influence engagement with such behaviours. Despite Australia's diverse population, there is limited research exploring how migrant primigravida and multigravida women adopt health-promoting behaviours and perceive social support during pregnancy. This study aims to explore and compare the relationship between health-promoting behaviours and perceived social support among primigravida and multigravida migrant women in Australia. It also seeks to identify socio-demographic factors associated with these behaviours and supports, and the implications for inclusive and culturally responsive maternity care. A mixed method design will be employed to allow for a comprehensive understanding of these experiences. Quantitative data will be collected through a structured survey, while qualitative insights will be gathered via semi-structure interviews. This approach will provide both breadth and depth in examining the interplay between social support and health-promoting behaviours. Findings will contribute to the development of evidence-informed strategies to enhance midwifery, nursing, and other allied health practice and policy, ultimately improving antenatal care and outcomes for migrant women in Australia.
