Research Masterclass - Developing AI Literacy in Your Writing and Research Practice

With the increased prevalence of AI-assisted research tools, it is important that Higher Degree by Research students and their supervisors understand how to appropriately engage with these tools to benefit their research. This webinar will increase participants understanding of collaborating with generative AI tools to develop research questions and improve their editing skills for research writing.

Lynette is an award-winning and highly cited researcher and educator in the area of HDR specific research skills, methods and support. She has a H-index of 18 and a total of 2094 citations. Some of her notable publications include 'Fostering AI literacy: A teaching practice reflection', ‘Reflection for learning in doctoral training: writing groups, academic writing proficiency and reflective practice’ and ‘Wellbeing in Doctoral Education’. She has received numerous awards for her work including a Dean’s Award for Programs that Enhance Learning (2019) and a Global Impact Grant (2022). She is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She has been a keynote speaker on issues of HDR student support at the International Conference on Humanities, Education, and Social Science (2022), the International Doctoral Education Research Network Event – Doctoral Excellence and Wellbeing (2022) and the Association for Academic Language and Learning Doctoral Writing Special Interest Group Symposium (2021). She also has a very successful Youtube channel (7.34K subscribers, 1.021 million views) providing short research development and training presentations on HDR relevant topics.
