UniSQ School of Creative Arts proudly presents Machinal, Sophie Treadwell's searing portrait of a life pressed into shape by a relentless, modern machine. In a world of routines, and expectations, a young woman fights for breath - and for the right to choose her own fate. Directed by Emily Burton, this fresh, contemporary staging channels the play's expressionist power through rhythm, light, and tightly choreographed movement.
Performed by our graduating third-year Acting students, Machinal is a thrilling culmination of their training: precise, physical, and unflinchingly human. Stark, suspenseful, and startingly relevant, this production asks what it takes to break the pattern - and what freedom demands.
