First Nations Scholarship

In 2024, UniSQ will offer three First Nations Scholarships to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students commencing their studies in a bachelor’s degree program.

First offered in 2022 and supported by donors to the University’s First Nations Scholarship Endowment Fund, this scholarship will provide support for students in their first year of study at UniSQ.

Each scholarship will have a maximum value of $4000 to be paid in one instalment.

Applicants must:

be a domestic student currently residing in Australia
be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person of Australia
be a commencing student
be intending to enrol full-time at UniSQ in a bachelor’s degree program in Study Period 1 2024 (e.g., Trimester 1 2024).

Applicants must:

address each personal statement question below (250 words maximum per question):
- what influenced and motivated you to choose your intended study program at UniSQ
- how you see yourself as a future professional within your field.
provide evidence you are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person of Australia.
provide evidence of academic achievement as directed in the application process:
- high school report card or post-secondary academic history (transcript of results) e.g., school, TAFE etc.
provide evidence of your current financial circumstances.

Please Note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.

Application must be made via the UniSQ Scholarships Online Application Management System.
